Dutch Bucket Hydroponics Pumkins

Dutch Bucket Hydroponics Pumkins at Living The Land, Disney World

These hydroponic pumpkins are being grown in a dutch bucket system. In this hydroponics system the nutrient solution is delivered via drip lines and the excess is returned back to the reservoir.

Around here, Upstate NY the dairy farmers
plant and grow tons of pumpkins and the turn
the cows into the fields and turn the droppins
under and so forth. Your supports are very
    substantial.Good luck

I want to start a hydroponic farm at Hyderabad, India to cultivate bell peppers, cucumbers, gourds (ridge, bitter and bottle) using coconut coir and cocopeat blocks as growing substrates and a non recirculating hydroponic drip system ( as maybe otherwise the buildup of chemicals may become too large). Can you help me understand how this system would work, what is the kind of water requirement per plant, does it have to be water delivered from a reverse osmosis unit?

I have never grown gourds. Cucumbers and bell peppers are both popular. How much water is difficult as just the evaporation rate varies wildly across climates. I had 5 foot bell pepper plants that used about a gallon a day per plant though Much of that was lost due to evaporation. Reverse Osmosis? Not necessarily. You need clean water yes, but only clean as in lacking chemicals that will kill your plants. I use regular tap water after giving a day for the chlorine to evaporate. As long as your water source is decent you will not need perfect water.
